Okay—real talk.
Refurbishing your home doesn’t have to cost a fortune. I’ve made so many updates to my little abode on a shoestring budget, and I want to share a few of my favorite tips with you.
Start with paint. I refreshed my kitchen cabinets with a $25 can of paint and added new handles for under $20. It gave the whole space new life.
Thrift it. So many pieces in my home came from Facebook Marketplace or the local thrift shop. You don’t need brand new—just good bones and a little imagination.
Peel-and-stick magic. I used peel-and-stick tiles for my backsplash and contact paper on my old countertop. Super affordable, super satisfying.
Update the lighting. Swapping out old fixtures for something fresh (and warm!) makes a huge difference. You don’t have to hire anyone—just follow a few YouTube tutorials and take your time.
Make peace with progress. Not everything has to be done at once. I’ve built this home slowly, piece by piece—and honestly, that’s part of the joy.
You don’t need a huge budget to create a space you love. You just need patience, creativity, and a little bit of courage.
